Chapter 3: Disk Capuccino

sexta-feira, 15 de fevereiro de 2019 Nenhum comentário
- Afternoon, miss Campbell. - My doorman received me.

-Hey, Chris! How’s it going?

-All good. You?

-Perfect!

-Great! Your parents left some mail for you. - he gave to me a box. - if you need anything, just call.

-Ok. thank you!

I got in the elevator with the box and as soon as I got home, I put in on a desk and tried to open it.

-Oh, god. - I whispered when I did.

It has a  picture-frame of my parents and my little sister, Chanel. She was a big girl right now. Also, had a letter from my mom and daddy saying they miss me with a perfume that dad said it was a little gift, for me to be always smelling good.

But when I was putting all the things on the box again, I looked to the cappuccino on my desk and noticed a message on it:

“We are working with drive-cappuccino-thru. If you need it one day…. xx Logan”(and his number)

Boy. This guy.

I finished my cappuccino, saved that number on my phone and before the shower, I sent him a message:

“Is it all day long? Maybe I’ll need it at dinner. xx Elena”

-

“As you wish. hahaha”

I took a bath, organized my stuffs and decided to sleep a little when I saw Logan’s message.

I looked to the watch next to me and it was 6pm!

“man, if I hadn’t woken up with your message… I would be screwed up tomorrow morning.

I went to the kitchen, made a sandwich and sat down, watching tv while I texted Logan.

“Sorry, I didn’t mean to wake you up. I got off work just now. But I’m going home, thanks to God”

“wow! is it soo busy there now?”

“You have no idea”

“But… why are you interested in my disk cappuccino? haahha”

“Hum… we could have dinner, I don’t know”

“That would be great. But at night i’m really overwhelmed. afternoon is good to me!”
“Great, then. tomorrow when I got off college I will stop by and we can have lunch… ok?”

“Wow, that’s great. I thought I was going to have lunch alone again, so…”

“No! We’ll be together :)”

And that was the rest of my night. I stopped texting him around midnight when I came to myself.

The conversation between us to was so easy.

 So natural.

-

Around 6am my alarm woke me up. I felt my head a little dizzy and some weakness took over me, but I just turned it off and got  up. It felt like i hadn’t sleep at all.

I took a long shower, put on a dress and left.

-wow, you are earlier. - iv came to me when I arrived at the classroom.

-Yea, and I slept after midnight!

-Why? Hum, you got the notebook back, huh?

I just smiled to her and she knew.

-I CAN'T BELIEVE! You hooked up already?

-Iv! Course not. - I laughed, embarrassed. - We are just getting to know each other. He’s cool.

-Stop. He’s hot. Do you already know his name?

-Yeap. Logan. He moved out a few months ago from South Carolina.

-Wow, you know even that..

-Shut up, iv. - I said, smiling.

Barely I know what was waiting for me on that lunch…

-

-Wow, are you good?

When we got off college,  my knees bowed and I almost fell, if t wasn’t Iv next to me to hold me…

-Man. - I sighed, getting back to normal.

-are you ok, Elena?

-Yea, yea. I’m just feeling a little weak. But i’m fine, bab.

-How are you going to the restaurant?

-I’ll catch a cab. Don’t worry, okay? Maybe I'm hungry, just it.

-Or nervous!

-Shut up, iv. byeee!

I caught cab, gave the address to the man and while he was driving I felt dizzy, again, looking at the window.

God. would I be like this all day long?

But just when I got out of the taxi, I saw that known face inside the caffeteria, sittting on a bench behind the balcony, with a Starbucks apron , leaning on his head.
-I think you forgot something today… or you wanted to leave a remind of you? - the boy said, smiling, when I came in.
The Starbucks was empty. Totally empty.

-It depends. If you want to study for me…. - shruggled, laughing. - You can have it.

-I think I deserve a capuccino, right?

-The usual?

-Yeap. - I smiled, sitting next to the balcony.

-rough day, huh? - he asked me while preparing my coffee.

-You have no idea. This Notebook is like my whole life! If I left it somewhere else… man… I’m really stupid.
-I can remind you where you leave it once in a while, if you want. - he came back with my capuccino, giving it to me. I just smiled, drinking.
-Are you asking me out?
-Wow! You are really a fast thinker, huh?
-Elena. - I said, smiling and giving him my hand.
-Logan.
-You are new here, aren’t you?
-Yep. I moved about a month ago. I’m from South Carolina.
-Wow! You have a strong accent, I noticed.
-Yea. I’m losing it, thank God.
-I think it’s cute. It’s different. - he put his hands on his pockets, moving his eyebrows. - Really!
-You asked me out, now you are hitting on me… wow!
-Hey, stop! - I laughed. - Don’t get me wrong.
-Sure, sure. How long are you here?
-About two, three months. I’m from Oklahoma.
-I have some relatives there. It’s hot, huh?
-Oh, nothing compared to the summer in here. Are you used to it already?
-To be honest, no. South Carolina was cold, and the winter could make you wish you wanna die. - we laughed.
-I can imagine that.
-I came here looking for independence. My uncle is the owner of the franchise and gave me this job while I look for college.
-I like being here. The education is strong.
-I noticed. What do you study in here? I’m new in here, and you know, I’m still questioning everything.
-Sure. When I came here, I did the same. I looked for many colleges till I find the one I wanted. I study Jornalism.
We smiled.
-Well, I have to go. - Someone got in and the bell above the door rang, making me get up. - I have to finish some works and study…
-Sure. - He came back to the balcony.
-See ya.
When I was almost leaving the cafeteria, he yelled:
-Oh, Elena!
-Yea? - I turned myself to him, smiling.
-I mean it about the notebook, ok? I don’t mind if you forget it in here sometimes.
-I know you don’t. - he smiled in a cutte way when I said it. - Me either.

I came back home with a silly smile on my face. But I rushed myself because it was almost 4pm and I really need to do my stuffs.

- A capuccino and two muffins to go, please.
Today is going to be the day that next morning I’ll be dead of tiredness.
I asked to the attendant that was finishing some client’s order.
-Ten dolars. - he answered turning to me. Oh God, he was really handsome.
As I was behind the balcony, I saw how his smile, hair and eyes were beautiful.
I always saw this kid, every day, as I was always late.
A little bit hampered I took off my wallet and got the cash.
-Here. - I gave to him and he gave me my order. - Thank you.
-Have a good day. - He smiled, nodding.
I left the Starbucks still feeling his eyes on me.

Ok, Elena, my boy's list is full right now.

The Florida suburb have not a lot of cute boys. Where I came from, Oklahoma did. So many memories.
-Thank God. - I sighed when I came in the room and saw my friend, Ivana. - I thought you were not coming today. - she started to fix my hair.
-What’s up, Iv? - I asked her when she sat on the table in front of me.
-A party saturday.
-Yep, but who will I go with ?
Ivana has a boyfriend, Mathew.
The only person that I’ve been close in the last 3 months of college in here was my doormen.
-Oh, no drama, Elena. - she nagged - till there we can find a hotty for you to go out. -Ivana got up and went to her chair when the teacher got into class.
-Lets see. - I answered looking for my notebook on my backpack.
It wasn’t there.
Again.
-Forgot something, Ms. Campbell?
The teacher looked at me. God. If a person killed someone in the class she wouldn’t notice. But me? Oh, she chould call the police.
-Um, yep. - I said, softly.
My heart went numb. Where did I left the damn notebook?
Oh God.
The Starbucks.
-Elena? Whats up? - Iv asked me.
-The Notebook is at Starbucks.
-Yep, as I was wondering. Forgot the notebook again, right? - the teacher said, crossing her arms. - Sit next to your friend to follow us, ok?
I did that.
At least it was a good motive to go back to Starbucks and see that cutie.
-Hey, pay attention! - Iv poked me, making my mind go back to the classroom.

After some classes, we’ve been released.
-Are you going to Starbucks, right?
-Sure. I need my notebook back.
-Just that or the cute boy too?
-Iv! - we laughed, getting off college. - Almost.
-Ohh, I knew it!
-He is a barmen, Ivana. - I rolled my eyes. - He should hit on every girl that comes there.
-He didn’t hit on me.
-Because you have a boyfriend!
-How would he know?
-Guys knows.  - she laughed.
-You are psyco.
-Bye, bab! - I gave her a high five and then, got into a cab.
I was a neglected and a not lucky girl.
Not good combinations.

I can bet that when I get there, the guy will not be there. It was around 3pm and he should be just in the morning shift.
