No better feeling (Translated)

I was hoping today would be like any other day.. Oh, I was wrong.

Woke up, made my breakfast and started to clean the house.

Today was my 2 year aniversary leaving alone, i left my parent's house when I was 18. I felt that was the time when some people called me to work in an office in New Jersey, few inches away my parents house.

It was friday, public holiday and I took my day off just to do some home chores, nothing else.

Till a friend of mine, Monalisa or Mona as I always called her, texted me saying:

"Hey, Chlo. - nickname for Chloe. - Are you going to do something today?"

I really didn't want to go out. I wouldn't refuse it because we always end up having a blessing.

"Nothing! WHY?"

"i was wondering.. what do you think about doing some pics with me and Kaique?"

Kaique was her friend.

Brunett, dark hair, dark eyes.. oh.. kaique.

Everytime I was going out with Mona, he was with us. He studies architecture and in the meantime  he was a photographer.

He and Mona worked together, I had already hooked up with him - of course - but Mona couldn't even dream about that. She surtnely would eat us alive.

The relationship between them was profissional, she thought that if something was going on between me and him, it could be weird for them. Mona made it pretty clear since I met him.

But...as some say "out of sight, out of mind". Nothing has changed. And we like to keep that way, it was just one night stand. He were a bit drunk.. so after that, we act normal, nothing's changed.

If it were, Mona was going to notice..and we would be fucked.

"I'm in. What time.."

"4pm I'll pick you up."

"Dress something casual, like going to a park or something"

It was almost 3pm, and knowing myself as the most late person ever, I went already to take a shower and change my clothes. I put on some make up, something really sweet, dried my hair and let him be.

A little bit after 4, the intercom ringed and as soon as Mona told me it was her, I got down.

Kaique was in the car and took us to a club.

I was in the back seet but couldn't not notice the looks that he was giving me through the rear view.

I was a little bit embarrased.

When we arrived, he arranged the camera in a good place while Mona was giving me some tips about modeling and tooking some photos of her cellphone camera.

Kaique in each position of mine, sometimes was barely looking to the camera, just to my eyes.

-You are great today, Chlo. I don't know if it is the light, the day.. something is perfect!

We had already done that before. I was feeling normal.

-I'm glad you liked it, Mona. - I laughed, embarrased;

-That. - She said when I was leaning against a tree. - Now let's go back there? It has a lot of halways with trees.

The club was empty, thanks to God. I love taking pics, but not with people looking at me.

While I was walking in front of them I heard a noise from Kaique's camera.. wow! He was unstoppble today.

I found the place Monalise said and came back to my positions. But the floor was a little bit slippery because of the rain of some past days, so I slipped and fell really bad.

Kaique laughed out loud while Mona came to help me get up, laughing too.

-Oh God! - Mona said, trying to help herself. - This one was hilarious, I'm sorry, Chloe.

-That's okay. - I laughed too, the only thing less embarrasing that I could do. - That's okay.

He enjoyed that moment to take some pics of me laughing. I loved spontaneos pics.

After a lot of positions and laughs, we decided to sit down a bit in a coffeteria that we found around there. We asked for a snack and talked a bit.

-i'm going to the bathroom, i'll be back. No pics without me, ok? - Mona said and we laughed, nodding.

As soon as she left, Kaique took off his backpack a polaroid camera and took a photo of me when I was disctracted looking to a restaurant in the other side of the street.

I looked to him, frowning.

-Sorry. It was perfect. - he smiled, embarrassed.

His eyes were lighter today. Kaique was wearing a polo white t shirt and some bermudas.. It was so cute.

I catch the photo that was getting off the camera and swing for her to dry. I was curious to see it.

-Are you okay? - I asked him - you always make some coments during the sessions and today you say nothing.

-I broke up few weeks ago with Melissa. - I frowned. They were dating since us.. - Yea. It wasn't the same anymore, you know? That fall of yours made me laugh more than these past 5 months with her.

-Wow. - I laughed, embarrassed. - I coud've  knocked over her when we got out together. - He laughed.

-That's okay. Anyway.. when I looked at her, I wasn't feeling the same anymore.

-I see. And are you ok with that?

-I'm ok. It made me good the break up. I've been just staying at home.

-You want to go out tonight? I heard about an exhibition in a galert around here.

-Really? I'm in!

-We can invite Mona and the peopl..

-I rather just the two of us, Chlo. Is that wrong?

Wow. No problem in here babe.

He spoke honestly, looking at me.

-No problem. It's good. - He smiled. - Can you pick me up at 7 pm?

-Sure. I'll be there.

Mona came back the bathroom, we asked for our check and instead of leaving me at home and then she, he did the opposite. For sure Mona found that weird. She soon asked him:

-HUH, are you going to drop me off first?

-Yea. I need to pass in my grandma's house, so it's easy to me.

His grandma is my neighboor.

-Oh, okay!

Monalize fell for it. But not me.

When Kaique stopped the car in front of my building, he put his arm on my seat - next to my head - and turned to me, looking at me.

-So? - I said, laughing. What the hell?

-I don't know if you know, but it is better for me to tell you before it is a surprise for you. I don't want you to go out with me expecting something else, I'm really honest and you know that, right?

How do I know. In the night that we hooked up, he asked me for go outside Mona's party and asked right into my face: "can we kiss?"

-But then, it came the sessions and meeting you again.. nothing, no one, could relieve the need that I had to be with you. I came home, tired of everything, and sometimes I got drunk to deal with Melissa. To not remember you.. your body..

-Kaique, I.. I thought you didn't want something serious. I even thought that you had already forgotten.

-Oh, Chloe.. - he laughed. - I could even forget my name. But not that night.

-What do you intend to do now?

-It was hard for me to took the courage to tell you this. You can't imagine how. Breaking up with her.. oh God. The hardest.

-I imagine. If you'd told me that I could've..

-No. You know that we couldn't. - I stopped, looking at him. - I'm telling all this now because i don't want to go to a gallery to look at some art on the walls. I don't want to be your friend, Chloe. You understand me? I simply dont want to.

I was looking at him. Took off my seat belt. Kissed him.

His hands found her way to my hips and mine to his hair. I could feel his sweet smell, his lips.. It seems like a dejavu;

-We don't need to be just friends. - I whispered. - and we really don't need to go to a gallery. You can come to my house later.. We can watch a movie..

-It is perfect for me. - Kaique smiled and I kissed him again.

It was no better feeling.
